Here it is...Imaginisce Lucy Bird

I have tried and tried to get a decent pic of this, but it doesnt want to play nice. So this one will have to do. Emily has been nagging me for so long to make her a door hanger with her name on, and I've finally gotten around to doing it. I am totally loving this range from Imaginisce, it's just so gorgeous and girly. I made all my brads with the I-top, and then covered them with dimensional magic.

It was nice to make something different for a change, and now I'm thinking I might make one for Jack with the Scooters Vacation range, although I've already started an off the page thing for Jack using those papers. I'm hoping the kids have a nice early night tonight, because we were out for a picnic today and they've been swimming and running around with their cousin. Should be nice and tired I think :) I got some really cute photos of the 3 of them...

Can't wait to scrap these!

I've Been Scrapping...

I started this last night, and I've been in and out of my scrap room all day, adding bits to it and it's finally finished! I love, love, love how it turned out! I used the Lucy Bird range from Imaginisce, and it's all soooo cute! Only I've just gone to take a pic of it and the light is fading, so my photos are turning out terrible. (I guess, it is after 6pm!) All I can share is this close up pic, because it's the only one that didnt turn out too blurry, but I'll be back in the morning with a proper photo.

Something I forgot...

A little while ago I got this blog award from the lovely Nikki. I meant to put it on my blog, but then with moving and then Christmas I completely forgot about it. I only remembered because I was just reading Nikki's blog and saw it there again! Oopsies!

Now I have to tell you 7 things about myself that you don't know...

1. I love the beach and can just look at it or walk along it for hours...but I hate swimming in it!
2. I absolutely loved Enid Blyton books as a kid, and have bought some to get the kids interested. Jack thinks they're boring but I'm hoping Emma will love them as much as I did some day.
3. I am totally NOT computer savvy and have so much trouble doing even the simplest thing.
4. I am loving rocky road ice cream right now (and I dont even like ice cream!)
5. I am the worlds biggest procrastinator when it comes to ironing and the basket is always overflowing.
6. I have sugar in my coffee (only half a teaspoon) but not in my tea.
7. I've never had a speeding ticket.

Lucky Me!

Guess what I got delivered? A new package from Imaginisce with these two gorgeous ranges - Lucy Bird and Scooters Vacation. They are totally awesome, possibly the cutest Imaginisce ranges ever. I am going to get started on it tonight. I also got my box of new Scraplets from A2Z delivered on the same day, so it was like Christmas all over again. And my new Kaisercraft stuff should be arriving next week. I am so lucky to design for such awesome manufacturers.

Some Sad News...

My heart is breaking today. Our sweet girl Chickie went missing yesterday and was found passed away this morning under a plant. I dont know what happened to her, or how she died. She was perfectly fine before that, and her normal cheeky self. I am going to miss her terribly :( RIP sweet Chickie. We love you.

A Couple of Cards...

A little while back I made some cards for the docrafts magazine. All I was able to use were some flower stickers and cardstock, and I found it to be a HUGE challenge. I usually rely on patterned paper whenever I create anything, so it took me forever to figure out what to do with it...

For this one it finally came together when I drew some stems and grass for the pink flowers and turned the green flowers into butterflies. I was actually pretty happy with how this one turned out :-)

For this next one I didnt want to do the same thing so I just kept it pretty simple and drew a scalloped frame to put the flower in and some strips of cardstock for the background.

I have some more cards on the go at the moment (using patterned paper this time!) and I'll be back to share them as soon as they're done :-)

2 More Layouts - Imaginisce & Fancy Pants

Here's yet another one using the Imaginisce Sweet Cheri range. I took inspiration from the papers and stamps to create a scalloped layout. I wish I could draw neater scallops, but oh well :-) I filled all the scallops with hand drawn circles and little bits cut out from the paper. Some of them have Sweet Cheri Stickers in them too.


I've also done a layout for the Monthly Challenge at Scraps of Us...

My challenge is to create a layout using green, brown and blue, one piece of product packaging and NO embellishments. I used Fancy Pants True papers for this one. I love these papers and have had them forever, so it was good to use some of my ever growing stash up. The product packaging I used was Prima. There is a bit of 7 Gypsies on there too.

Well, I'm off to do some more scrapping now. I've got my girl next to me and she's stamping up a storm with the new stamps she got from Santa. She is making some cards and I've promised her that I will put them on my blog when she is done, so stay tuned :-)

Another Imaginisce Sweet Cheri Layout...

Now I've had these photos sitting here for years, but I could never find any papers I liked to scrap them til these ones. I just love how little and cute Emily looks in these photos. I think she was about 3 or 4 there. I've used my Imaginisce I-Top tool again for all those brads. I just cant get enough of that thing! I used some of the product packaging on this layout too - it's the pink spotted card that I've used a border punch on. I'm getting so good at using every little bit! Here's a close up look at those brads...


They are made using this tool. Yes, I know it looks kind of weird, but if I can use it anyone can, and I would definately recommend getting one.

And here's a close up look of the bottom corner, with another heart stamp that I've layered, and lots of cute chipboard stickers.

Well, I am planning to have a scrappy day today. My scrap room is DONE, I stayed up til midnight last night finishing it off. I've had to store a heap of stuff that I dont really use (mostly all those OTP things) in the kids playroom because it just didnt fit, but at least it is all sorted and finished and ready for me to scrap in. I will be sharing some photos soon :)

And lastly, I've to decided to have a HUGE blog giveaway for all the lovely followers of my blog. I really love sharing my scrapping with everyone, and reading the lovely comments that people leave, so I would just like to give something back. I was planning to do it before Christmas, and I had bought some things, but I just didnt get a chance, but I'm organised now, so look out for it very soon.

Imaginisce Sweet Cheri Layout

I'm STILL sorting my scraproom, and it is really looking good now. One thing I can't believe is how many off the page things I have bought with the intention of scrapping and then forgotten about. There are boxes and boxes of them! I think that might have to be a resolution for 2010 too - to start actually doing something with them all! Anyway, I just thought I'd take a quick break and share this layout that I made using the Imaginisce Sweet Cheri range. I love, love, love these papers, they are so sweet, and so fun to work with. And the stamps! OMG they are just awesome, I can totally see myself using them again and again.


Here is a close up of the top corner. See that large brad in the centre of the flower? I made it using the I-Top brad maker and some of the Sweet Cheri paper. I have to say, when I saw the I-Top it looked a bit scary but now I am just loving it!


This is a close up of the bottom corner, with the little cupcake stamp, which is probably my fave stamp from this range. Soooo cute. Apart from the white embossed cardstock, everything else is from the Sweet Cheri range, and the other plain papers are just the backs of the patterned papers. I have some more Sweet Cheri layouts to share soon, but right now I'd better get back to finishing off this room. I've promised Em that we'll have a scrap night in here tonight and at the moment there is no space on the tables that doesnt have something on it. Back soon!

Happy New Year!!!

2010 is here! Time for me to start thinking of some New Years resolutions that I know I'll never keep, lol. Hmmm...another diet? I would definately like to get healthier, that's for sure. I would like to make a point of walking along the beach EVERY day, I know the kids would definately appreciate that one. We havent been going to the beach as much as I thought we would since moving up here, but I think that is just because we have been so busy over Christmas. We did go to watch the fireworks on the beach at Bribie last night with Mum and Dad which was really good. They had the fireworks going off from a boat over the water and it was just beautiful.

Another resolution I want to try and keep is to make my scrapping a bit more meaningful, and do a lot more journalling. I think I just need to get over the fact that I dont like my handwriting and just put it on there.

Well, that's it from me for now. I'm still organising my scrap room and I just want to get it done! Dad brought up the last of my boxes a few days ago and 4 of them were full of scrapping supplies, so now I need to find some space to squeeze it all in. Happy 2010 Everyone!!!

I Need to Scrap!

With all the Christmassy things going on, I haven't had a chance to do much scrapping and I miss it! Actually Emma has been scrapping more than I have. She got lots of scrapping goodies under the tree and has been crafting like crazy, while I have been unpacking the last of the boxes, cleaning, cooking and organising. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though. My scrapping room is just about done and I am in here at the moment. I still need to get a few more storage things and I will be ready to scrap. I have so many new photos from Christmas that I can't wait to use. Most of my favourites were taken on Christmas Eve, as I decided to put the camera away on Christmas morning, after taking just a few, so I could really enjoy it with the kids.

I was sooo tired on Christmas morning. Jack was too excited to sleep on Christmas Eve. He kept hearing Santa's sleigh on the roof, and didnt go to sleep until 12.30am! Of course Santa couldnt visit til he went to sleep. Then Emma was up at 2am, so excited because she saw that Santa had been and she could see all the pressies under the tree. She wanted to wake Jack up then and there and get started opening presents, but I made her some toast and then popped her into bed with me. Finally she went back to sleep. I managed to get a few hours sleep before they both woke me up after 6, then we called mum and dad over and then the present opening began!

The kids got mountains of new toys, as usual. Jack got so much Lego, and some of the boxes were huge, but he had them all assembled by boxing day. I can't believe how quick he is these days. Em got plenty of crafty stuff, which she just loves. We had such a nice day, and I really loved being at our house for the whole day and not having to go out.

As much as I love Christmas, I'm glad that it's all over for another year. I'm looking forward to getting the house completely sorted. I went out and bought a heap of new furniture yesterday, and a nice big new tv too. I cant wait til everything gets delivered next week! I am looking forward to things getting back to normal and having a bit more time. I am really missing scrapping, so I am making some time tonight to finish off a few things that I had started before Christmas, so hopefully I'll have something interesting to share in the next day or two.

A Layout and a Sketch

Wow, I have had such a busy day, Christmas shopping this morning and then this afternoon I have been busy trying to set up my scrap room. Just got some new shelves today but I think I will need a lot more. I have so much stuff and I'm finding heaps that I've forgotten I even bought, still in the bag from the scrap shop. It's like Christmas when I open up a bag and see what's inside, lol. I haven't had much of a chance to scrap, but here is a layout I did a little while back for A2Z Scraplets, and it's on their blog at the moment. It's one of the only photos I got of Jack being a page boy at my cousins wedding. The light in the church was not so good for my camera, so I'm glad I got this shot.


And this is the sketch which is up on the A2Z blog at the moment. Entries for this sketch close at the end of January so you have heaps of time to do it. I cant wait to give it a go :)

Some More Layouts...

Just a quick post again, these layouts were for A2Z Scraplets...




At the moment I am setting up my scrap room! I have been waiting for this day for soooo long. I got some tables today and now I am unpacking all the boxes (you wouldnt believe how many - seriously, I think I could probably open a shop with all that I have!) I can't wait til it's all sorted, a room just for my scrapping, and I wont have to pack it all up every time we have a meal and need to use the dining table. Life is good!

Imaginisce Polar Expressions

I totally love everything that Imaginisce bring out, and the Polar Expressions range is no exception. The papers are just divine, and I just love the polar bears and the cute little bird with the ear muffs. I am determined to use up every little bit of this range, and I have quite a few works in progress, but here is what I have finished so far...

I was going to call this layout "Secret Santa" and journal about how my dad sometimes dresses up as Santa and visits the kids on Christmas Eve. He didnt do it last year because I thought they might work out who it was, as they are getting older and a bit more clued on. But when they were looking at this photo as I was making the page, all they saw was Santa, not Poppy, so I just called it "We Love Santa".

This next layout was made using a sketch over at Scraps of Us. I quite liked the sketch and the page came together so quickly. That photo of the kids was taken a few years ago, and I used it on some of my Christmas cards but I still hadnt scrapped it, so it was good to finally get it done.

This frame was made using a plain wooden frame that I've had lying around for ages. I just painted it, and then covered it with papers. It looked a bit plain so I made a little scalloped frame for around the photo. (I am so addicted to scallops!) And dont you just adore that little polar bear?

And lastly for now, here is a few gifty things that I've made - an altered tin, gift tag and card. I used the I-top tool to make the brads on the card and the tag, and I totally love it! There are loads of projects using this range on the Imaginisce blog so make sure you go and check it out.

I'm Back!

Yes, I know, it's been a while. I have been staying down at mum and dad's to sort the last stuff out at my old house, but now I'm up here for good! Finally! This is just a super quick post, to share a few layouts that I havent put on here yet. I havent scrapped hardly at all lately, because I havent been home, so I am dying to get stuck into it!


This is a layout I did a little while back for Blossies (one of the last ones I did as a dt member. I can't believe how fast the last year flew by!) The theme was hidden journalling, so I hid it behind the snowman. This layout is about how Jack always wishes for snow every Christmas. I wish that his wish would come true, I'd love a white Christmas!


This one was made for the DoCrafts magazine, and I also added some hidden journalling behind the photo to fit into the Blossies theme. So funny, Em is still worried that she is on the naughty list. She had a cry today, sobbing out "I just can't help it, I keep being naughty". She really isn't that bad though, not as naughty as she seems to think she is anyway, lol.

Well, that's it from me for now. The kidlets are tucked into bed, so I think I'd better get started with some present wrapping.

Kaisercraft Christmas Layouts

Just wanted to share some of my Christmas layouts that have been featured on the Kaisercraft blog. This first one uses the Christmas Carnival range, which is one of my all time favourites. It went perfectly with that photo too :)

This next one was made with the Dear Santa range. I love how the product tags are so good to use on layouts too. This range is so gorgeous for using with black and white photos, I just love it.

And this last one was made using the Kaisercraft Belle range. I have been waiting for ages to scrap this photo because it had such a big space over on the side, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. And I just love that photo of my little elf :)

I'm Back Online! Yahoo!!!

Well, I've finally moved and we are totally loving our new house and living near the water. I have been without internet for a little while now though, but I'm finally up and running again, thank goodness! It was so frustrating being without it. I've just got a couple of scrappy shares for now, cos I'm just about to head back to my old house to pick up the last bits and pieces and to give it a good clean. I really dont feel like driving down there today, especially seeing as it's perfect beach weather here today, but I guess it has to be done.


This is the layout I did for the Saturday Sketch on the Kaisercraft Blog. I love the Dear Santa papers, they are so nice for distressing. I just need to keep unpacking my scrapping supplies to find the brads that I want to put in the centre of those flowers to finish it off. I got Em to write on the Dear Santa postcard on the layout. You probably cant read her writing, but it says "I've been trying to be good, love Emily" So cute. She is really worried that she wont be getting any presents because she thinks she may have been too naughty, but she really is a good little girl, most of the time anyway, lol.

I've also been making some decorations for the Christmas tree with the kids. I've done this as a step by step project on the Blossies Blog. This one uses Kaisercraft Christmas Carnival papers, and it's a really simple fun project that's easy for kids to do as well.
