I'm Exhausted!!!

I am so glad that I've got the kid's birthday parties out of the way until next year! It's so full on getting everything organised and ready for the day. And I had it easy this year for Emma, because she wanted to have her party at a play centre, but I was still rushing around all morning, making the cake, decorating biscuits, wrapping pass the parcel, and trying not to forget anything. Em was beside herself with excitement all morning. Here she is before the party, all neat and clean...

She didnt stay that way for long though, but she had SO MUCH FUN!

I hardly got any nice photos of her. Every time I tracked her down and tried to get a picture, I usually got a photo of the back of her because she was racing off so quickly, playing tiggy or something.

I managed to get a couple of group shots...

but I couldnt convince all the kids to come and sit for a photo. These are the ones who couldnt resist the bribe of a lolly :)

On the way home she said it was her best party ever, and now Jack can't wait to have one here too. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I still kinda like the good old home parties the best.

We had to bring all our own party food, which I thought was good, so I could make a few fun things...but the kids hardly ate a thing!!! Some of them did at least have some birthday cake. I made a pink poodle cake, and it actually turned out quite well! (surprise, surprise!)

She got tonnes of pressies, but her favourite one was the pink DSI that her daddy got her. As I'm sitting here she is playing with it, screeching into it actually, and then distorting her voice. Fun times...hope she still likes the pink camera that I've got to give her on her actual birthday next week!

Imaginisce Live Loud Mini Canvas

I've had this little canvas sitting around for ages, and I didnt know what I wanted to do with it. It's only 10cm x 10cm, so tiny and cute! Then I had a bit of a brainwave and decided that I will get some more of them, and make a little collage of mini canvases on the kids walls, with different quotes and pictures. I'm going to use different paper ranges for each little canvas, so it will end up looking all bright and colourful and interesting. So this is my very first little canvas of many, and this one is destined for Jack's wall. I couldnt resist using the Imaginisce Live Loud range for this one, I just love it, and it's so perfect for little boys. Here's a close up of the little robot. Isn't he cute?

With the last design team box I got from Imaginisce I also got a heap of Tombow adhesives (I'm a lucky girl, I know) and this is the one I used to put this little project together...

This is the glue that I started buying when I first started scrapping, and it is just the best. It's awesome for gluing papers and ribbons too, and dries nice and clear. So nice and easy to apply, and it has a fine and broad tip applicator, so it's perfect for applying glue to smaller areas too.

I have some more Imaginisce projects to share in the next day or two, so stay tuned :)

Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine Layout

I love, love, love the Vintage Valentine papers from Fancy Pants. They are so gorgeous I almost didnt want to use them! I did though, and I ended up doing this page about Christmas morning. I generally get one good photo of the kids before they get started on opening their pressies...once they get going it's so hard to get any good photos! It must drive them nuts, with me trying to get a photo when all they want to do is see what's in those packages!

For the title I've used A2Z Scraplets, and the little angel that I've covered with book paper was from A2Z as well. I did use just a teensy bit of Christmas paper, it's that flower up in the corner, which I cut from a past Fancy Pants range. I can't decide whether I want to add more to this page or not...it kind of seems unfinished to me, so it will probably sit on my table for a while til I can work out what it needs. I've been busy making some embellishments today, so maybe one of those can go on there. Depends on how they look when they're done, lol!

Some More Layouts...

Yay for the weekend! I love it when we dont have to get up early and race out the door to get the kids to school on time. We all had a nice sleep in til 7.30 this morning...bliss! We've got the kids granny staying with us this weekend, so the kids are happily playing Uno with her at the moment, (hehehe...so glad I dont have to join in!) and I think they'll be heading down to the park soon, so long as the rain holds off.

This is the layout I did for the Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch, using Gypsy Sisters. I'm really enjoying sketches at the moment, which is weird because I used to not like doing them at all. Here is another layout I did, this one was for A2Z Scraplets, using the leaves...

I finally opened my Smooch Spritz that I got ages ago, and used it on this page. So fun! The kidlets didnt think it was at all fair that I got to spray stuff and they didn't, and were begging me for a go, lol. I think I might have to make up some sort of spray thing for them to use now, but definately not using my stuff! Maybe some watered down WASHABLE paint or something, because knowing them, they'll probably end up spraying eachother!

Well, I'd better be off. Hope you all have a fun weekend!

Creative Scrappers Sketch

Well, after giving my scrap room a thorough clean up, in the hopes that my mojo would return, I sat down with this sketch from Creative Scrappers...

And guess what?! I actually did a layout that I'm kinda happy with!

I think I will do a few more sketches now, because that was so quick and easy to do. It was so nice to come across a photo of Em as a baby, so I could actually do a baby layout with those cute Fancy Pants papers. It is a pretty unflattering photo of her, she had such a mooshy little face, lol. So cute though, makes me kind of clucky for another one (hmmm...dont think that is likely to happen any time soon though!) Well, I am keen to scrap again now, so hopefully that means my mojo is on its way back :)

I've Lost My Mojo :(

Dont you just hate it when you're on a roll, doing heaps of layouts, and then all of a sudden.......nothing. No ideas, no inspiration, nothing. That's what's happened to me at the moment! I so badly want to scrap, the housework is done, the kids are at school..........but nothing! I have been shuffling papers and going through my photos, but I just cant seem to get it together. This has been going on for 3 days now and it's driving me crazy!!!

I have scrapped a quick layout though. This one is for the A2Z monthly challenge. (There are great prizes on offer so make sure you give it a go!) This is the sketch...

And here's my layout...

I just kept it really simple (obviously, because I cant scrap at the moment!!!!) I thought I might try a few more sketches to see if I can get my mojo back. I really dont know where it could have gone, but I'm really hoping it will come back soon!

Weekend Classes

Here's a couple of sneaks of the classes I've got coming up this weekend...

This one is for a double layout using the Kaisercraft Made With Love paper range.

And this one is a single page layout using the Shaken Not Stirred. I'll be teaching these classes on Sunday at Blossies, so if you want to get some scrapping done, make sure you give them a call and book your spot!

How to make Rolled Flowers

Good morning everyone! These rolled flowers are popping up everywhere at the moment! Because I am just a little bit obsessed with making them lately, I made a little tutorial for them on the Kaisercraft blog, and I thought I would pop it on here too...

Step 1 – Cut out a circle and cut a spiral into it. When you get to the centre you should have a little circle shaped piece.

Step 2 - Distress the edges a bit, or leave them as they are. Play around with it a bit and see which look you prefer.

Step 3 – Start rolling the spiral up from the end. You need to keep it fairly tight as you roll it around or it may not work properly.

Step 4 - Remember the little circle piece at the centre? That’s all you should be left with now, so just apply a glue dot, or a big squirt of glue and press your flower down onto it, making sure the bottoms of all the rolls are sticking to it. Now go ahead and give it a try yourself, and you’ll always be able to make a flower to go perfectly with your project!

Peachy Keen...

I've got another layout to show you today, using the yummy Peachy Keen range from Kaisercraft. I love these papers, there are so many good bits just waiting to be cut out!

And here's a close up of the gorgeous flowers that come in the embellishment pack.

The title and the cut out flowers are the freebies that come in the back of the magazine. I totally forgot to use the free stuff in the last mag, so I was determined to make the most of it this time.

Well, I can actually see some blue sky and a bit of sunshine outside today! Fingers crossed it will stay that way over the weekend :)

This Made Me Laugh!!!

I stumbled across this and it made me laugh so hard. It is sooo funny, I just had to share it :) It does have a few swear words in it, but nothing too bad.

Is It Really Thursday Already?

Hello lovely readers of my blog! Is it just me, or are the days going by quicker all the time? I feel like time is just flying by at the moment! I wish it would just slow down a bit. Maybe it means I'm due for a holiday :)

I have lots of scrappy shares today, seeing as I have been neglecting my blog a bit lately. These are some of the things I've made with the gorgeous new Kaisercraft products I got a few weeks back...

I love the Devonshire range, it's definately my favourite. And here's a close up...

The La Di Da range is so cute and girly, and very "Emma"...

These were my first attempts at the handmade flowers. I just love them but they do make the page quite bulky.

And this is the card I made, using the Cupcake Mini Clear Stamp. How cute is that stamp? I just know I will use that one over and over again.

Well, that will have to be all from me for now. The kids both need the computer for their homework tonight, so I guess I wont be getting a turn of it til they've popped off to bed. I think it's time I invest in another one :)

Imaginisce Sketch Challenge

Did you know that Imaginisce have a monthly sketch challenge up on their blog? For your chance to win a great prize, make sure you head over there and check it out! Here is the sketch for this month, which was created by the talented Erin Bassett.

And here's my take on the sketch...

I've used the very cute Lucy Bird range for this layout and I've used nothing but scraps! I usually use loads of papers on my layouts, so it was really nice to be able to use just scraps that were hanging around. The little flourishes were left overs that I didnt end up using on another page (and didnt throw in the bin!), and the grass was a piece that I cut out when I first got these papers, and I didnt think I was ever going to use it. (I had originally planned to do another layout like the Magic Garden one that I taught at the Fancy That retreat last year, but I just couldnt get it to play nice!) I tried doing some handmade flowers on this layout too, which were really fun, but I think I may need a bit more practice with those, lol :)

Have fun with the sketch, and Happy Scrapping! I can't wait to see what you all come up with :)

And The Winner Is....

Thanks everyone who joined in with my blog giveaway. I have tried again to get the Random Number Thing onto my blog, but it just wont play nice. Computers just dont like me! But it chose Number 29!!!

Another Winner

Ok, so I was going to show some cute photos of the kidlets picking the winner of the Followers prize, but my camera was left on, and now the battery is flat! It's just not my day today! I put all the followers names in a box and got the kiddos to pick one out. (It was the only way I could work out to do it!) The winner that the kids "picked out of the box" is...........rebelliouskiwi! Please email me your address and I'll get your prize out to you :)

And for everyone who didnt win this time - dont worry, I will regularly be drawing followers names "out of the box" at random, for great prizes, with all names going back in after they are chosen, for another chance to win!
