Fashion Girls!

Tonight Emma has her little friend Georgia sleeping over. She is one of our neighbours so they get to spend a lot of time together but this is the first time they have had a sleepover together. Em has been excited about it all day. We went to the video shop and she chose some very girly dvd's, then off to the supermarket where she chose some cupcakes for dessert and a couple of push pops (which I never let her have). As soon as Georgia got here Em gave her a lollypop and put one of her "Bratz" hats on and they were off playing "fashion girls". As soon as I came out with my camera they started posing and I got these cute photos. Can't wait to scrap 'em!

Basic Grey Gallery

Last week I submitted a layout to Basic Grey and they have put it in their gallery. So exciting! To see my layout go to http://www.basicgrey.com/catalog/idea_gallery_info.php?cPath=93&idea_gallery_id=31809 (It has some cute Jack photos on it!)

My Little Helper

I had this little girl keeping me company while I scrapped today. She loves to come inside and just sit at my feet like a little dog. What a sweetheart!

I've finished another 2 layouts for Blossies. Another one for the bling theme and the sketch that I have to do every second month. The journalling was so easy for the double page layout. I just took it straight from my blog and printed it out as it was without even changing anything! The whole reason I started this blog was to help me remember things for journalling and it's finally paying off. Yay!

Class Layouts

I've been scrapping up a storm at the moment but I cant put my pages on here just yet because they are for classes and kits for Fancy That, so here's just a sneak peek! The first one is for my "Creative Rolling" class and the second is for a Basic Grey kit, which has 1 double and 1 single page layout.

Lost Tooth

Emily lost one of her front teeth the other day. Well, it was the other night actually. She woke me up at some early hour of the morning to show me that her tooth had fallen out. She must have woken up and given it a bit of a wiggle. I had to tell her that the tooth fairy had already gone back to fairy land for the night and she'd have to put it under the pillow for the following night. I think she was glad she had to wait an extra night because not only did the tooth fairy leave a shiny gold coin, she left a beautiful new neclace as well!

New Layouts

These are a couple of layouts for Blossies. The theme for this month is bling. The page of Emma is missing something but I'm not sure what it is. I'm sure if I keep staring at it for long enough it'll come to me! I've got another layout of Jack which is almost finished, as well as quite a few layouts for Fancy That which I cant share just yet. I really love it that I have a great excuse to scrap these days!

Jack's Lego Pool Party!

Jack's party was on Sunday and I was very relieved to see blue skies that morning. It was perfect pool party weather - very hot! His party wasn't until 2 in the afternoon so all day I had to listen to - "how much longer?". I'm so glad we did it in the afternoon as it was so much more relaxed than having it in the morning. It gave me plenty of time to blow up balloons and ice the cake and everything else. I had heaps of party games organised this time but all the kids really wanted to do was swim! The slide was a big hit, although Jack hit his head really hard coming down when he was sliding on his back with his legs in the air. OUCH! I was actually taking photos as he was coming down so I caught it on camera. Hmm...I think I'll be doing a page about that!

Because Jack's party was Lego themed, I made a Lego cake. It was definately the easiest birthday cake I have ever made! He got lots of lego for his presents, as well as some games for his playstation, and some other things too. His party went really well, but I have to admit, I sure was glad when it was over! Now I've got to start planning Emmas party!

Happy Birthday Jack!

Today is Jack's 8th birthday. Wow! I can't believe it's been 8 years already. Sure makes me feel old to be the mother of an eight year old! He was really cranky this morning and didnt want to go to school. He said that because it was his birthday that he should stay at home. Well, I would have let him, except that I had to work in the morning and I had already made him a cake to take to class that afternoon. He was fine once he got there though. His class sang "Happy Birthday" to him in the morning and again in the afternoon when I brought his cake in. He was pretty happy about that. He felt pretty important when everyone was crowding around to see his cake, and even more important when his teacher let him choose the order in which the other kids could come and get a piece. He chose his friends first of course and all the girls were last! After school I took him to his tennis lesson and then to mum and dad's for a swim and a pizza dinner (his choice). He got a huge Indiana Jones lego set from me, as well as playstation and psp games, a psp ben 10 game, jacket, pj's, Primevel Dvd, and more lego from mum and dad, and 2 more playstation games from Tony. He will be getting heaps more pressies on the weekend at his party, so he has done pretty well for his self. Now I just need to get myself organised for that party! 3 days to go!!!

This Baby Needs Help

This afternoon I looked out the window and noticed Chickie having a bit of a scuffle with a crow. She is quite a good little guard chicken and doesnt like intruders in the yard. I went up to check it out because she was really getting angry and chasing the poor crow, and it wasnt flying away. Well, I had to catch my breath when I saw it. At first I thought it had something stuck on its face but then I saw that its beak was deformed and twisted. And its only a baby, maybe about 4 weeks old I think. The mother bird hung around for a bit and then she left. I kept an eye on the little one until it started to get dark and then put it in a cage. I couldnt just leave it out for the cats. It did eat some bread dipped in water from my hand and I gave it a bit of water from a syringe, but now I'm not sure what I should do. I know if I take it to the RSPCA, they will put it to sleep. It seems really healthy apart from the deformity so is obviously doing ok while being fed by the parents, but I dont know how it will do on its own. I really hate the thought of it having to die after getting this far. I really wish I knew what to do...

BBQ at Wivenhoe

On Sunday we went to a bbq at Wivenhoe for the kids Granny's birthday. I actually managed to get some cute photos of them with their little cousins Ben and Lyla, so now I cant wait to scrap them!

That Crazy Dog

It's something that I never thought would happen but on Saturday it did...Daisy jumped out of the window as I was driving the car! She always loves to stick her head out the window and feel the breeze (as dogs do!), so I always leave the window down a bit so she can do that. This time I had the window down a bit lower than usual but she was behaving just fine so I left it. We were driving to Mum's house and as soon as I turned into her street Daisy jumped straight out the window. I heard her scream and I thought I'd run over her! I stopped the car in the middle of the road and jumped out. When I got to her she was squirming on her side and couldn't get up. Her face was bleeding too. I picked her up and ran up the street to my parent's house with the kids running behind me, leaving the car in the middle of the street with the doors open.

When I got there we wrapped her in a towel and I was going to take her straight to the vet. Daisy looked terrible and she was foaming at the mouth. I sat down with her to stop myself shaking so I could drive again, while dad went to get my car. Mum and I checked Daisy over to see what damage there was. She was shaking so hard and couldnt swallow so drool was just dripping out of her. Her chin was grazed and bloody and she had a graze above the eye, so it looked like she had landed on her head. The kids came in to see how she was but mum sent them for a swim (we could see them from where we sat) to give Daisy some peace and quiet. Well, as soon as Daisy heard the kids outside at the pool area, she snapped out of it and ran outside to get her ball! Then she ran around the edge of the pool, bouncing around as usual, demanding that someone throw the ball for her. Talk about a speedy recovery! Lucky I didnt race off to the vet straight away. She must have just gone into a bit of shock but all she really had was a few grazes. She is certainly a very lucky dog. And I've learnt my lesson too - Don't leave the window down more than a few inches when Daisy is around!
