Imaginisce Cottage Christmas Layout

Woohoo, it's Friday again! My favourite day of the week. The kids have their sports on Friday afternoons (tennis for Jack and dancing for Em), then we come home and have an early dinner, then settle down for our Movie Night. I love it just as much as the kids do, although the movie choices are not really my thing! But cuddling up on the couch with my 2 favourite people in the whole world, without having to nag about homework and bedtime always makes it a great night :)

And...I love that I can stay up super late scrapping after the kids go to bed, and not have to worry about waking up at the crack of dawn to get the kids sorted for school. I have heaps of new papers that I'm dying to scrap with tonight, and I can't wait to get stuck in. Since getting the Imaginisce Cottage Christmas goodies I've been going through my old Christmas photos, and I'm now on a mission to scrap them all before this Christmas. Here's a page I did using this cute range, with a photo of Emily from Christmas 2008...

Poor Em, she was so desperate for a Cabbage Patch Doll, and wrote numerous letters to Santa about it. But she was a bit naughty sometimes...and sometimes I would find her crying quietly to herself, and she would tell me that she knew she wouldnt be getting a Cabbage Patch Doll. Oh, talk about heart breaking! Especially when I knew my mum had already scoured the shops for the cutest Cabbage Patch Doll with brown hair and brown eyes, just like Em.

And now...my mum is a bit cheeky, so she had bought a teeny tiny Cabbage Patch Doll, and put it under the tree, and when Em unwrapped it, she put on a very brave face, and said that Santa only gave her a little one because she had been a bit naughty, but that it was ok and she still loved it...

So we went through all Christmas Day, and after the party at my parents, and after the kids were bathed and everything, mum pulled out one last present for each kid, and gosh, it was worth the wait to see the look on my girls face! I don't usually scrap Christmas Day photos on their own, because there are always so many, but for this one, I just had to :)

And here she is with her new besty, (who she named Montana, and who she still loves nearly two years on)...

Oh gee, look how much I've written! I guess these old Christmas pics are making me reminisce, which is what scrapping is all about hey! (and did you know that "Imaginisce" is a cross between the work 'imagine' and 'reminisce'? How cool is that!) Well, I'm off to clean my house and get my scrapping stuff ready for when the kids go to bed tonight. Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some more shares. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!

OH I just love the reaction on her face doesn't it just make Christmas morning when you see that!
And I love your story about Friday nights, I wish I had started that when the kid were younger - being older we get the odd brief moment when they can be in the same room together without fighting!
And your layout is wonderful, I love the colour combo and how you did your journalling

Oh Sam that is such a gorgeous story, what a great pic - really captured her excitement about getting the gift she so desperately wanted. Reminds me of when I was a little girl and how much I wanted a Cabbage Patch Kid too. And when I finally got one for Christmas, it was the best present ever! Love your layout - too beautiful!!
