A Couple Of Layouts...

Wow, half way through the first week of the school holidays, and the kids havent killed each other yet! Actually, they've been pretty good. We've been staying up late, and getting up late, and generally making the most of not having to go anywhere. It's been bliss! I think Daisy is really enjoying having the kids at home too, especially because they always drag blankets out when they sit on the lounge to watch movies.

She loves nothing better than to wrap herself inside a blanket, and it's so funny....she actually picks the edges of the blanket up with her teeth to move the blanket over herself. So cute!

Now for some scrappy stuff! This is the layout I did for the A2Z Scraplets June Sketch...

Not entirely happy with thise one, but oh well, you get those I guess. Here's a close up...

And this is my layout that was published in the latest Scrapbooking Memories magazine (p97)...

Jack was very happy that he was on this page too, and has even promised to let me take more photos of him! We'll wait and see if that actually happens though...he really hates having his photo taken (typical boy, huh?)

Well, I'm about to have a baking afternoon with the kids. Jack has been hanging out for some peanut butter biscuits, and Emily has her heart set on making some chocolate muffins, so my kitchen is about to become a real mess! All good fun though. Hope you are having a great week!

Twisty Flower Tutorial & FP Layout

I am finally on a scrapping roll again! I think its because the kids are on school holidays, so I can let myself stay up late. I'm such a night owl, and I always seem make better layouts in the early hours of the morning for some reason, lol. I've even got some classes ready for August, can you believe it!!!

I've just been outside taking some photos, but my battery went flat, so all I've got to share for now is this layout using the Fancy Pants Roadshow range...

And a close up...

And some more close ups...

And just because I feel like it, here's a little tutorial on how to make the twisty flowers that I've used on my layout...

Step 1 - Punch a cirle and cut some long stips of patterned paper, 1cm-2cm wide.
Step 2 - Scruch the paper strips to make them a bit more pliable.

Step 3 - Take one strip of paper, fold it in half, and then twist it so you end up with a long twisted strip of paper.

Step 4 - Start rolling your strip of twisted paper into a coil, and keep twisting it as you go so you get a nice crumply effect.
Step 5 - Put a generous dob of glue in the centre of your punched circle, and place your coiled strip of paper onto it, holding it in place til the glue takes hold. If this is the size flower you want, you can then cut it out from the circle, or keep adding twisted strips of paper around this small coil until you have your desired size.

Step 6 - Add a bit of bling, or a pearl or two and you are ready to add them to your next project!

Well, that's all from me for now. Better drag those kidlets off the trampoline and get them into the bath. For some reason they just love jumping in the dark, but it is way too cold for that at the moment!

Imaginisce Birthday Bash Layout

Woohoo! I finished a layout today while the kids have been playing on the trampoline. I got the new Birthday Bash line the other day from Imaginisce, and I thought it would be perfect for scrapping this pic of Em on her 3rd birthday. She looks so little here!

And of course, a few close ups...

I am loving this new range, love how the colours are great for both girls and boys, and the embellishments! Oh, there are some really cute new embellishments, like the banner I used on my layout...

and these cute candles...

You can see the rest of the range here.

Well, I'm about to head off to the shops with the kids to get a stack of dvd's. We're gonna have a huge movie night tonight, and then off to the zoo tomorrow. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!

Fancy Pants Rusted Sun Frame and Mini

Arrgh! I just can't seem to get a decent photo of these things! I was going to be clever and take these to the beach to photograph them, but the sand is too wet from all the rain. So I took some pics this morning, but when I saw them on my computer they looked terrible. So I just took a few again now, seeing as the sun is out again...but still crap! So I guess this is as good as it's gonna get for now. I really loved how these little projects turned out too...

This frame is going to be for a picture of Jack at the beach, but seeing as I havent printed one out yet, I just stuck this one of my niece in to see how it looks. I love, love, love this line from Fancy Pants! And just cos I wanted to keep on using it, I covered this little box that used to hold cold and flu tablets, and made a cute little mini to go inside...

Well, that's all from me for now. I've got my boy home from school sick today. Looks like it's asthma time again! I was planning on a scrappy day, but I've spent most of it fussing around him and making him endless cups of tea. Hope you are having a good one!

Kaisercraft Layout with Instructions

Good morning! It's perfect scrapping weather here today - nice and rainy, so I've set myself up in front of the tv, so I can scrap while I'm watching True Blood...bliss!

First though, I just wanted to put this layout on here. This was going to be a class at Blossies, but it never ended up going ahead. There was a lady that really wanted to do it though (hi Bernie!), and I promised her a while back that I would do up some instructions for it. Thought I would pop it on my blog, so anyone else interested can do it too, so here it is....

What you'll need

5 x patterned papers (pp)
some old book paper
letters for your title
chipboard flowers
ink
3 6x4 photos

1. Choose your base paper and ink all the edges.
2. Cut your second pp to 23cm square.
3. Cut book paper (or patterned paper if you want) into strips approx 1cm wide, and as long as you can. You will need quite a few of these.
4. Run a line of wet glue around one edge of the 23cm square of pp, and quickly place the strip of book paper down, gathering the edges and ruffling them as you go. (you can ruffle these strips before hand too, and add them to your page already done)
5. Once you have done this to all four sides, you can centre it and place it on your page.
6. Cut your 3rd pp to 10.5cm x 26.5cm, ink the edges, and then place on your page approx 5cm from the right edge.
7. Cut your 4th piece of pp to 17cm x 19cm, ink the edges, then centre on your page.
8. Place your 3 6x4 photos on the page, overlapping them slightly.
9. With your 5th pp Cut a circle, about a 25cm diameter, and then cut into it, so you just have a 1cm pp border. Outline it in black pen and place on your page. (make sure it doesnt cover any important parts of your photos)
10. Add your title and embellishments.

And a few close ups. Book paper ruffles...

I used Collections letters for the title, and raided Emma's stash for that pearly glue paint that I covered them with.

And some A2Z Scraplets beachy flower things.

Ok, I'm of to get stuck into some serious scrapping. Hope you all have a fabulous day :)

I'm Back and ready to Scrap!

I'm still here! This flu has really knocked me around the last few weeks. I thought it was gone, but it came back with a vengeance! Today wasnt so bad though, I even got out to teach a class at Blossies (and picked up some gorgeous papers too!) I haven't done a huge amount of scrapping, but I plan on getting back into it this week. Can you believe that I'm actually up to date with all my scrappy committments, so I'll be scrapping just for me! I have to admit though, that I'm feeling a little lost and don't know where to start! I have soooo much stuff sitting in my scrap room that I just cant decide what to use! I was just the right amount of busy with being on 3 design teams, but now that I'm only on 2, it feels weird that I dont have a lot to do. Guess I might have to give those challenges that I'm always planning to do a go, lol.

Now...I do have a layout to share...this one is from a class I did a while back at Blossies, on how to make those twisty flowers and diy flourishes (sorry for the awful photo, I really need to find better light!)...

And here are a couple of sneaks of next months classes...

I've also started teaching at Scrapping on the Avenue at Bribie Island. It's only a fairly new shop, and it's just up the road from the water, so if you ever head up this way to spend the day at the beach, make sure you drop in and check it out.

Well, I'm off to sort all the kids uniforms for school for this week, (not that I feel like it!) Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!!

A2Z June Sketch Challenge

Hello! I should really be finishing off my housework right now, but I decided to give myself a little break. I have all of my scrapping stuff out but I am not letting myself near it, or else I'll never get anything done!

At the moment I'm working on the A2Z Sketch Challenge, and this fab sketch is by Liz Weber...

Now my page is still a work in progress, but here is a little peak at what it's starting to look like...

Loads of Prima on this one! I'll put the whole page on here as soon as I get it to look right, lol. Make sure you head over to the A2Z blog, cos if you have a go at this sketch, you could win an awesome prize!!!

Oh, and I just wanted to share this pic of Little Miss Speedy, who came 1st in her race on her sports day at school. She sure was proud of herself. (and yes, she always looks this scruffy when I pick her up from school!)

Kaisercraft Jungle Bug BTP Frame

This frame I made for Jack's room is actually sold as an accordian album, but seeing as it came all stuck together like that, I thought I'd make it into a frame. (and maybe because I didnt feel like sanding all those edge bits off, lol) It is the last BTP project that I made as a Kaisercraft Design Team member. I cannot believe how fast that year has just flown by! And wow, what a year i't's been! I was so excited when I got that call to say that I was on the DT. Now I'm wondering if any of my friends have got that call yet??? I know a few people who have tried out for it this year and I am keeping my fingers crossed for them!! And for any of my blogging friends who've applied, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too :)

Imaginisce Splash Dance Layout & I-Rock!

Good morning! Guess what? Today it's my birthday, and I just got the best present ever from my mum and dad.....a clothes dryer!!! I'm so excited! I've never had one before, and being a single mum, it's just one of those things that I never seem to be able to afford. From now on I dont care if it rains for weeks on end...we will have dry clothes!!!

Ok...enough of my excitement, lol, and onto some scrapping! Here is a layout using the super cute Imaginisce Splash Dance papers and stamps. I LOVE these stamps, they are just the CUTEST!!! And see that flourish?

I made that using the new I-Rock tool. It is my new favourite tool, and I just love it. There are all types of bling and studs in different colours and sizes, as well as different templates to create flourishes and other shapes. You can use it without the template too, of course, like I did here on these Thickers...

Dont forget I have a heap of gorgeous SPLASH DANCE goodies to give away. Not many people have entered this giveaway yet, so make sure you go here for your chance to win a fabulous prize!

Kaisercraft Konstrukt Layout and BTP

Woohoo, it's Friday afternoon! I am so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow, it's been really hard getting up and getting the kids sorted this week because of this bloody flu. The kids have been having trouble getting their little butts out of bed this week too, because it's been so cold, so I think we will all enjoy not having to get up early tomorrow!

I have done quite a bit of scrapping this week, especially with Kaisercraft products, so it's been nice to just veg around and do that. Here's a couple of things I've made with the Konstrukt range...

I am so into making paper flowers lately. I just cant get enough of it! Well, that's all from me for now. Thanks for all the lovely comments that you leave. I know I've been a bit slack this week, but I'm hoping to visit all your blogs over the weekend. Now...I think I need some coffee before I go and pick the kids up from school, or else I might just fall asleep before I get there!

Kaisercraft Hey Birdie Layout

Good morning! Actually, it's a sick morning here for me. I've kind of felt like I was coming down with something since the weekend, but now it seems I have the flu. Everything hurts :( Guess I can thank Emily for that, seeing as she had it last week. I was in bed by about 9 o'clock last night, and when I go to bed that early, I know I must be sick, lol! I'm still hoping to do a little scrapping while the kids are at school today, even if I just sit in front of the telly and cut a few things out.

I am loving the new Kaisercraft ranges at the moment, especially Jungle Bug and Hey Birdie. Here's a layout I did using the Hey Birdie range...

Cute papers, huh? I have lots planned for the rest of those papers, I just love those colours :) And the felt embellishments for this range are so cute! I'm going to make myself use them, instead of just keeping them to look at, like I usually do with things I really like!

Well, I'm off to wake my kidlets up so they can get ready for school. Hope you have a nice day!
