Get Picky Challenge Layout

Well, I just remembered this morning that there was a challenge that I really wanted to do this month, so I quickly whipped out some photos, and some new Imaginisce Enchanted goodies, and came up with this...

I used the new Roly Rosies and Pop up Posies, to make some super quick and easy flowers...

I'm sure a lot of you can guess what challenge this was for. Yep...it is the first Get Picky challenge. Here's the sketch I used...

Well, hopefully I wont leave it til the last minute next time!! Well, that's all from me for now. I have sooo much to do before I pick up the kids from school. Where does the time go?

Oh and before I do go, make sure you've got your entries in for My Biggest Giveaway Ever, as I will be drawing prize number 2 tomorrow :) Go HERE to enter.

Layouts and a Card!

Good mooooorning! Monday again! I just got home from the school run, so I have a nice, quiet house for the next 6 or so hours :) :) I've got quite a few shares for today, first up are these layouts using some new release A2Z Scraplets...

This was the ONLY photo I had of one of the kids near a campfire!! I have scrapped every other campfire photo, so this one had to do, lol. Here are a few close ups (yes, these were the sneaks from a couple of weeks ago :))...

This next one was a "no frills" super quicky...

And this next one here...well...I was trying a different look, with no patterned paper, and just a splatter of paint. Very minimalist for me, but it was fun to try something different...

And now a card! A while back my favourite scrapping mag Scrapbooking Memories asked me to do some cards for their latest issue. Of course I said yes, but I was thinking "YIKES!" The theme for that I had to use for these cards was "chin up"/"stay strong" as it was for the "Pink" issue. I really struggle with making cards, but here's one of the cards (the one I liked better) that is featured in the mag. (If you want to see the other one...well you'll just have to check out SBM!)

Well, I'd better get my butt off this computer, and get started on everything I have to do today. Hope you have a great week!

I'm Excited!!

Why? Because I've finally worked out how to get the random number thingy to show on my blog!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, so I'm probably the last person in the world to work that out, but I'm not very computer savvy, so that's a big achievement for me, lol.

So anyway, here is the first winner of MY BIGGEST GIVEAWAY EVER!!

And comment number 44 was left by TR! Congrats TR, just email me your address and I'll get your mini prize pack out to you asap :)

Now, there are still 5 more mini prize packs to be won, as well as the major prize of a huge stash of Imaginisce papers and embellies, so make sure you have your entry in HERE to be in the running.

Hope you're having a great weekend!!

Crazy Amounts of Scrapping...

But nothing much to show just yet! A couple of weeks ago I was on top of all my scrappy committments, and then bam! I got a heap of new things to do all at once! Can't complain though, I love scrapping under pressure :) I think it actually makes me do a better job, lol.

This little sneak is one of a few things I've just finished off for a certain magazine. And I've just finished off another 2 layouts for another mag too. I'm dying to share, but you'll just have to wait :)

We haven't been up to much else lately. The kids were sick over the weekend, and were off school today with it too. Just a fluey thing again, but poor Jack has been pretty unwell with asthma. I was starting to think he might be growing out of it, but he's really needed the nebuliser over the last few days. I hate seeing him like that, and I really hope it is something he does grow out of. I'm really annoyed too, because I'm starting to get the sore throat and headache thing now. I really hope I wake up tomorrow NOT sick. I don't have time to be sick! The Purple Pumpkin update is on Friday, so I have lots to do so I'm ready for it.

Also on Friday, I will be drawing the first winner for my giveaway!! I will pop up a pic of this weeks prize in the next day or 2, so make sure you have got your entry in. Just check out the next post for all the details.

Well, I'd better drag myself away from the computer, and get back to work! Hope you have a great week :)

Harrison's Story

A few weeks ago, a close friend of mine, Melanie, lost her little boy. His name was Harrison. His funeral was one of the saddest, most heartbreaking things, and I will never forget it. The sight of that tiny coffin, and the absolute grief of the family and everyone there is something that will stay with me forever. I will never forget the look of pure grief on the face of Mel's husband, as he carried the coffin containing his son, out to the hearse. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to lose a child. I don't even like to think about it.

Harrison was on this earth for such a short time, but he will never be forgotten. Mel has a blog for Harrison, that was to document his fight for life. Although he lost that fight, Mel is continuing Harrisons blog, to keep his memory alive, and to maybe even reach out to others who have gone throught the same thing.

I would appreciate it so much, if all my friends out there in blog land, could stop by Harrison's blog and read his story, and maybe offer some words of support to Mel. It would mean so much.

Ready and Waiting...

Can you tell she's ready for Halloween? Emily has been counting down the days for months!! She's got her new little witch costume all ready and waiting, along with those cute little glasses with the witchy nose. And you should have seen her eyes light up while I was making that cute hair accessory. Yep, I made it with my I-Top!!

See that brad in the centre there? It's a new Twist Daddie. The back of these is like a little screw...

And after you've made the Twist Daddie, you can slide a few flowers onto one of these, screw the Twist Daddie on top and...

Voila! You have a cute little headband! That glittery flower is one of the Pop up Posies, another new product from Imaginisce. I just covered it with mod podge and a bit of glitter, because my girl likes things sparkly :) And all the flowers you see on there are from Imaginisce too. They come in the cutest little cupcake or mini handbag packaging, with fabulous co-ordinating colours. (You can check them out HERE)

The best thing about these is that you can keep changing it to match whatever you want. Just twist it off, change the flowers, pop on a different twist daddie, and you've got a whole new accessory. Emily has already told me all sorts of different colour combinations that she wants, so I'd better get busy, lol. And this is just the start of it. In this range there are also hairclips, and snap bobby pins and snap rings!!

Oh, and I nearly forgot...Imaginisce is having an AWESOME giveaway! You could win one of 3 Cricut Gypsy's!!! Head over to the Imaginisce Blog to check it out!

Well, I've got a class to teach today, so I'd better go and sort out some instructions. Hope you have a great day!!

Procrastinating...

Good morning! I have a gazillion things to do, but here I am, sitting on the computer...again! I just thought I'd pop on and share a few photos from the Pet Parade that was at the kids school on Friday. I got some really cute photos!

This is the kids as soon as we got to school. It was free dress day too. Daisy and Buffy were pretty keen to check things out. And here's Em looking "fabulous" in her sunnies. She always wears them on free dress days!

Poor Buffy. It looked like Jack was nearly going to drop him as he walked around with him for the parade. The poor little dog was too freaked out to walk!

Here's Daisy getting blessed by Father George...

And then it was Buffy's turn...

Did you notice the horse in the background of that photo? I couldn't believe it when someone brought a horse to school, lol. There were so many pets...dogs, cats, chickens, mice, rats, guinea pigs, fish, ants, reptiles and a horse. I took HEAPS of photos, can't wait to scrap them!!

Well, my housework is calling. Hope you have a great week, and hopefully I'll be able to share some scrapping real soon :)

Still Here :)

I haven't blogged for a few days, and I've missed it!!! I love my little blog, and all the fabulous people I've "met" through here :) We've been busy, busy, busy this week. The kids are back at school, and that always seems to make the days go faster! We've started going to the beach every afternoon again, for around 2 hours, and the kids and Daisy just love it...and I do too. I love that I'm exercising and it doesn't feel like exercise!

Of course I've been scrapping too, but nothing I can share! Here's a little sneak though...

I've got a heap of layouts sitting here actually, but hopefully I'll be able to share them in a week or so. I've been really busy with Purple Pumpkin too, which is so much fun! (ooh, and there's a couple of my buttons on those sneaks there :)), I'll be doing another PP giveaway soon, so stay tuned for that.

Well, I'd better go and bath Daisy now. It's pet parade day at school tomorrow, with all the pets getting blessed, and I don't want her to be stinky! Emily is soooo excited to be taking Daisy to school. And Jack is taking my mum's teeny tiny dog Buffy. I can't wait to get some new photos :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're having a great week :)

A Little Bit of Scrappiness...

Well, the kids go back to school tomorrow :(

I love it when they are home, yes, even with the fighting and whining. Sometimes I think I would love to homeschool, but I'm a total pushover where they are concerned, and I don't think I'd be a very good teacher. And the kids actually love going to school, and both argue about who has the "coolest" teacher!! Weird, huh? I never thought my teachers were cool!!

So, we didn't seem to do a lot over the holidays, but I have had lots of lovely super late nights, staying up til 1 0r 2, scrapping while the kids were sleeping. I have soooo many layouts that I can't share just yet, but here is one I did, just for fun, using up some of the bits and pieces that were on my table...

A couple of different Fancy Pants ranges on here, with some Imaginisce, a bit of Sass and some Kaisercraft! I usually tend to stick to one range when I scrap, so it was good to mix it up a bit :) I took these pics of Em last week, when we had a day out on my dad's boat. We were lucky enough to see 6 dolphins, including a mother and her calf!!! I didn't get a single decent photo of them though :(

I came across a huge stash of brads on a recent scrap room clean up, so now I'm using them where ever I can, lol.

And of course I had to pop a Purple Pumpkin button on here :)

There are still a few kits and button packs left on the Purple Pumpkin blog, so if you were wanting to get your hands on some of my handmade embellies, make sure you pop over there now, as once these are gone, there wont be any more until the end of the month.

Well, it's still raining here, so I'd better go and throw another load of laundry throught the dryer (yay! the novelty still hasn't worn off:)) Hope you've had a great weekend!
