Caardvarks Red Hearts Challenge

I am so not a card maker, but I really want to be, and I thought that doing some challenges might spur me along a bit. So I thought that this time, instead of just lurking, I would play along with the Caardvarks Card Challenge. The challenge this time was to make a card using the colour red, and it had to have a heart on it. I had just bought some new red paint this morning, so I used a bit of that, and then added a bit of the new Kaisercraft Made with love papers. The heart stamp I've used is from the Imaginisce Sweet Cheri range.

Well, that's the only bit of craftiness I have to share today. I think I might try making some more cards tonight, because that was fun :)

Back to School!

Just a quick post today, I'm soooo tired! It was the kids first day at their new school today, and I was determined not to be late, so I set my alarm for really early. Luckily I ended up having plenty of time for photos and we got to school in perfect time. They were so very excited when they woke up this morning, although they were both starting to feel a little nervous. When we got to school I went to Jack's classroom first, and he walked in their like he had been going there for ages! He found himself a seat in between two other boys and was relaxed and happy straight away. Mum stayed with him for another few minutes while I rushed Em off to her new class. I could only stay a few minutes and then all the parents had to leave. I was a bit sad to leave her, as she can be a little bit shy sometimes, especially as she didnt know anyone.

I couldn't wait til it was time to pick them up, to find out how their days had gone, and what they thought of their new school. I was very relieved to see huge smiles on their faces when they came out of class. THEY LOVED IT!

Well, I'm off to bed for an early night. Should be back with lots of scrappy shares very soon :)

Happy Australia Day!

Happy Australia Day everyone!!!

We didn't do a lot today. We went down to the park where they were having an Australia Day Beach Party, but it was so hot that we didnt really stay for all that long. Mostly I spent today covering the kids school books (nothing like leaving it til the last minute!). I can't believe that they are back to school already tomorrow. Where has the last 2 months gone? They are so excited about starting a new school, and I am looking forward to getting lots of photos tomorrow morning :)

Thanks for all the lovely comments I have been getting lately, they really make my day. I love getting back to everyone and checking out all your blogs too (although sometimes I cant seem to find a link back). Well, that's all from me today, I have to get those rascals into bed. I've already tucked them in but they keep popping back out!

Kaisercraft Made With Love - Heart Album

A little while back I was sent some an album and the Made With Love papers to make a mini album for the Kaisercraft magazine, and this is what I came up with. You can see this project in the mag, and you can download the instructions to make it here. I made the album all about Em's love for puppies, and how excited she gets every time we get the call to collect some new foster pups...

Journalling: You sure take after your mama Emily. You just love dogs! And you are just in heaven every time we get some new puppies to foster. We never know what we are going to get next, or how many puppies we will have each time. As far as you're concerned, the more the better, and you look forward to having more wriggling little mischief makers to look after every time we get the call...

As soon as we get the call to collect some new pups you start thinking of names to call them.

You love helping me to look after the puppies, especially when it comes to bath time.

Sometimes, if the puppies can be trusted, I even let you take them to bed, and it's just the sweetest sight to go in and see you sound asleep, with a couple of exhausted pups curled up with you.

You love playing with the puppies for hours, and you are happiest when you are carrying around a pup, with a couple of others nipping at your heels.

It's always hard to say goodbye to our foster pups, but you still have your best friend Daisy at home to shower all your love and attention on.

I know, the pictures aren't the best, but I just snapped them off quickly before I sent the album off, and I havent got it back to take better pictures yet. You get the idea though. Em can't wait to have this little mini sitting in her room. I'm sure it will be looking battered and well loved in no time!

Lazy Weekend

That's what we're having, a very lazy weekend. We slept in this morning, vegged around watching tv, then the kids played some playstation while I scrapped a little.
This afternoon we headed to the surf beach, but had to leave because there were a few bluebottles around, so we went to the calm beach. I got a few photos (of course)...

Love this one of the kids running down to the water. They just don't get sick of it! No matter how often I take them, it is never enough.

I absolutely love this one of the sun setting over the water.

And this is my fave, just something about it.

And here's a layout I did the other day. It was a challenge at the Challenge Chics to use last years papers, fozz felt and buttons, and I based it on a Kaisercraft Sketch.

Speaking of Kaisercraft, I got my new box of goodies delivered the other day. I've already done a couple of layouts with it too. I'm on a roll! There are some really gorgeous new ranges being released in the next couple of months, I really can't wait to get my hands on those!

Two More Layouts...Imaginisce Lucy Bird

Actually it's a double layout, but still counts as 2 pages right? Usually if I do a double I tend to treat it as one big page, but these ones I did as 2 separate pages that go together (does that make sense?) I've used the Imaginisce Lucy Bird papers AGAIN, I just love them! And there's lots of book paper on this one too. I have a thing for that at the moment as well, it just seems to go with everything! The chipboard title is from A2z Scraplets. Of course I used my I-top again on this page. Did you notice that I covered the brads with crepe paper? And I put a rubon on the top of this crepe paper brad...

And how cute is this little butterfly rubon? I made the trail using a bit of Kaisercraft bling.

Well, that's all from me for now. The kids are feeling a bit under the weather today, so we haven't been up to much. Starting tomorrow I am planning to get them up early so they are ready for the whole school routine next week. Over the holidays they have been staying up til about 10 or 11 and sleeping in til about 9! Gotta get them out of that little habit ;)

Layouts and Photos to Share

I am really loving these Lucy Bird papers from Imaginisce. I think I'll be a bit sad when I've used them all up! This layout was really simple and quick to put together. I just used the scraps I had left over from the door hanging. I punched a border around the white cardstock, layered my scrap strips together and voila - finished from start to finish in less than an hour! I love doing quickies like that. Kind of makes up for all the times it takes me hours to finish a layout :) I used the super cute scalloped circle stamp from the Lucy Bird range, and the white flower is actually a Gimme Clips hair clip!

And of course I've been using the I-top again to make these brads for the flower centres. I am so addicted to that thing! I've used ribbon to cover a couple of these brads, and the other day I covered some with crepe paper. They turned out great!

Now, Miss Emily has been nagging me to put some of her "work" onto my blog too, so here is a layout she created yesterday...

Don't you just love her journalling? It's so her, lol. She really does love animals and bugs. Before dinner tonight she asked me if she could bring her pet bug inside! "What pet bug?!" is what I said, and she showed me a little bowl filled with grass and leaves with a little shiny bug in it. She said she found him sleeping but I think it is actually dead, but I didnt have the heart to tell her that, so he is now "sleeping" in his little bowl in the bathroom.

Yesterday Mum and I took the kids to the beach, so they could use their new nets to catch some fish. My niece is staying up here at the moment so the kids are really loving having someone else to play with. The girls caught a couple of small toad fish, which they put into a bucket, but Em wouldnt leave them alone and kept picking them up out of the bucket and holding them. There's no way I would be touching one of those things but she thought they were beautiful. Jack wouldn't touch them either, lol. When Em went to put them back into the water, and she wouldnt leave them til they had swum out into the waves "in case an eagle flew down and got them". She is so sweet.

I got a few cute photos too, although the kids weren't very co-operative, they were too busy having fun!

Love this one of Em trotting off to explore on her own.

Two little cousins. These girls just adore eachother and are inseparable when they are together. They kept me up til 2am the other night with their giggling and carrying on!

Love this photo of Em looking like a cheeky munchkin in her Poppy's fishing hat.

Emily is trying a bit to hard to pose in this one but it's still cute. Actually they're both looking a bit strained, they just wanted to explore, not have their photos taken!

Hmmm...Em is trying to figure out how to get past the slushy seaweed without getting stuck.
My gorgeous little man, he cant stand to have the sun in his eyes.

Em trying to put a flower behind her ear, but it just wouldn't stay there.

Jack squinting into the sun again. Only a couple of pics of him without his eyes closed!
The poor fish being "petted" yet again by Emily.

The two girls patting the fish while Jack looks on in disgust.

Sun's going down, time to go home. We really love living here :)

Brand New Imaginisce!!!

Have you checked out the Imaginisce blog lately??? If you have, you would have seen these awesome new release ranges...

I just love those top two, how cute! The black and white range is gorgeous too, but I think the Splash Dance pic is my favourite.

And have you seen the new I-Top backers? Not just for brads anymore, they're now available with magnet, badge and button backers. Just awesome.

And I took this straight off the Imaginisce blog. Looks VERY interesting! Something to do with bling maybe???

NEW: iRock & Hot Rox

We impressed you last winter CHA with one of the best selling tools released in 2009 and we won't disappoint you this year. BUT, this product is so TOP SECRET that we can't officially announce it until CHA, but here's a sneak peek (literally) of the "hottest" new scrapbook & crafting tool being released in 2010.

Doesn't it all look just awesome? I wish I was going to CHA to see all the fabulous new products being released!!!

Here it is...Imaginisce Lucy Bird

I have tried and tried to get a decent pic of this, but it doesnt want to play nice. So this one will have to do. Emily has been nagging me for so long to make her a door hanger with her name on, and I've finally gotten around to doing it. I am totally loving this range from Imaginisce, it's just so gorgeous and girly. I made all my brads with the I-top, and then covered them with dimensional magic.

And dont you just love this cute little bird stamp?

And here is Em holding her prized posession (yes, she made me take that photo, lol)

It was nice to make something different for a change, and now I'm thinking I might make one for Jack with the Scooters Vacation range, although I've already started an off the page thing for Jack using those papers. I'm hoping the kids have a nice early night tonight, because we were out for a picnic today and they've been swimming and running around with their cousin. Should be nice and tired I think :) I got some really cute photos of the 3 of them...

Can't wait to scrap these!
